Le Lieu Unique, in Nantes
Located in the former buildings of the famous biscuit factory LU, renovated in 1998, in the heart of Nantes and 1500 m from our Hotel Graslin, the Lieu Unique is now an amazing cultural centre, known as Scène Nationale with an exhibition and entertainment area, and a café/bar/club, a restaurant, a bookshop, a boutique and even a hammam !
It is in the Champs de Mars district, on the banks of the Saint Félix canal that you will find this unique place, as well as the famous LU Tower, emblematic of the city.
The city has managed to preserve this exceptional heritage, while keeping in mind the famous Nantes little biscuit, the Petit Beurre LU. Created in 1886 by Louis Lefèvre-Utile, it was awarded at the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris, and has been enjoyed by generations of young and old alike. A gourmet saga in the heart of Nantes that perfumed the city until 1986, when the factory moved to the outskirts of the city, leaving this immense building now available for contemporary art and culture.
