The LU Tower in Nantes
The LU tower, the first factory of the LU biscuit brand
Take advantage of your stay at the Best Western Hotel Graslin to discover the LU Tower.
Just opposite the Dukes of Brittany castle is the LU tower. As its name suggests, it was part of the old factory that produced the famous Nantes biscuits, the LU petit-beurre.
Originally, the factory consisted of two towers and a building, but they were badly damaged during the Second World War and only one of them could be restored.
The tower is truly photogenic with its gold and blue colours and its dome pierced with windows. Inside, on the ground floor, you will find a small room tracing the history of the LU factory.
However, the highlight of the visit is at the top of the tower to admire the view of the whole city of Nantes. This is possible thanks to the Gyrorama, a strange machine with the look of invention "Jules Verne".
Next to the Lu Tower, in the former manufacturing plant, there is also an atypical art centre which offers several exhibitions :
an auditorium with dance and theatre performances...
- a trendy bar
- a restaurant
- and a bookstore
