Genghis Khan - the exhibition at the Musée d'Histoire de Nantes
Until 5 May 2024, the Musée d'Histoire de Nantes is hosting an exceptional event: the first exhibition in France devoted to Genghis Khan (1166-1227), founder of the Mongal Empire. Born on the steppes of Central Asia, he is considered to be one of the greatest conquerors in history.
Located within the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, the Musée d'Histoire de Nantes has been hosting an exhibition unique in France since 14 October 2023: "Genghis Khan, how the Mongols changed the world". You'll discover how Genghis Khan and his Mongol army founded an immense empire in the 13th century, going on to control over 22% of the planet. This exhibition, which is supported by the State of Mongolia, features a rich collection of objects from Mongolia and museums in France and Europe. It has been recognised as an "exhibition of national interest" by the French Ministry of Culture.
